It is very easy to find, located between Madison and Milwaukee, less than 2 miles off I94. Olympia is a lovely resort with plenty of nice rooms, a pool, seasonal skiing, and a complete spa.

What are the Pokémon TCG State/Province/Territory Championships?

The Pokémon® TCG State/Province/Territory Championships (S/P/T) is a title event series where players in each of the three POP-recognized age divisions compete to earn the title of State, Province, or Territory Champion! These events will be held in various locations throughout the world during March 2011. Results of the S/P/T Championships count toward your Premier Rating!

What does it cost to attend?

All Pokémon Organized Play Premier events in North America, other than those that use a Limited Format (such as Prereleases), are FREE! So, there is no admission fee for an S/P/T Championship within North America! Organizers may charge for side events run at these tournaments. When attending an event outside of North America, please contact the Tournament Organizer of individual events for additional details.

What are the player eligibility requirements?

  • To participate in the event, you must be a player in good standing and abide by the Pokémon Tournament Rules and all other applicable event rules.
  • State residency is not a requirement to participate in the Pokémon TCG S/P/T Championships.
  • National residency is not required to participate in the Pokémon TCG S/P/T Championships; however, the travel allowance is awarded to residents of the host country (U.S. & Canada) and will be passed to the first eligible finisher in the case that a non-resident wins the event.
  • Players who are found to be in violation of the rules of eligibility are subject to suspension from Pokémon Organized Play and to the loss of prizes, including, but not limited to, invitations and travel allowances.

Review the Rules of Eligibility in our Tournament Rules document.

What is the tournament structure?

The tournament is run using the Modified Format and Swiss pairings. See the Tournament Rules for additional information about the Modified and Swiss formats. The number of Swiss rounds run will depend on the total attendance of the event.

After Swiss rounds are complete, there will be a cut to single-elimination finals. The number of players to qualify for the finals will depend on the total attendance in each age division, with a maximum of 16 players playing off in any one division.

S/P/T Championship events have a K-Value of 32. For more information on K-Value, Ratings, and Rankings, click here.

Please note that Black Star Promo’s BW01, BW02, and BW03 as well as all cards found in the Black and White Preview Pack found inside the Pokémon TCG: Sneak-Peak Tin will not be considered legal in the Modified format until the Black and White set has been released. (April 25th in the US)

What are the prizes?
Prizes are awarded to the top 8 players in each age division.

The divisions are:
Junior Division: Born in 2000 or later
Senior Division: Born in 1996, 1997, 1998, or 1999
Masters Division: Born in 1995 or earlier

Participants will receive a Pokémon TCG S/P/T Championships promo card while supplies last, just for playing!

  • A Pokémon TCG S/P/T Championships 1st Place medal

So Finally, to summarize ...
What should I bring to this event or do to prepare?

I would suggest that you come to this Premiere Event as prepared as possible, so that your experience will be as fun and stress free as it can possibly be. We want you to have a great time, we don't want you to be nervous or freak out because you forgot something or didn't realize you needed to do something. So here are some tips for you to make sure you have a great tournament...

Pokeball Print your decklist out ahead of time so that you can have it all filled out when you get there (and make sure it's neat so we can read it!) Or try the very simple to use Decklist Maker at PokeGym! That way you can have fun talking with everyone, browsing at the store or making new friends. There will be a lot going on that morning, and you can easily get very distracted trying to write out a decklist there. You don't want to have a mistake on your list that might cost you a match, when it could have easily been avoided by writing out your decklist ahead of time at home. But don't worry, we will have decklists available there at the event if you're not able to print them out ahead of time.

Pokeball Get plenty of rest and be sure to have yourself a good breakfast before you come! You'll be able to concentrate better if you don't get distracted listening to your stomach growling!

Pokeball Don't bring more 'stuff' than you can easily keep track of... we can't be responsible for lost items. If you bring a backpack, keep it at your feet with a foot on a strap maybe. And it's a good idea to put your name on things too :)

Pokeball Make sure you have everything you need... damage counters or dice, or a coin or clear round-edged die for flipping heads or tails, some spare sleeves in case one of yours gets ripped or damaged, and something to keep your stuff in.

Pokeball Bring along a couple dollars... it's going to be a long day, you'll probably get hungry, and we will have some great food available right there. Besides, there will also be some good stuff for sale from our vendors, including Pokemon cards, tins, boosters and other cool stuff.

Pokeball Check your deck over before you get there... make sure your cards aren't damaged or 'marked' in any way, that your deck has 60 cards exactly, and that it's all in the Modified format.

Pokeball Email me with any other questions you might have, so we can get them answered prior to the event.
