Come Join TIY for our Pokemon Prerelease Tournament! Come get the newest set, Secret Wonders, before it's even released to the public. The cost is $25, which includes the cards/decks you'll play in the tourney, a special Prerelease Promo Card, a set of exclusive design card sleeves that you can only receive at the Prerelease, PLUS bonus packs for everyone at the end! Over $35 worth of new products, how cool is that?!!

We will have 2 separate events, the Main Event and the Theme Deck Challenge, and players of any age may enter either one of the tournaments. If you are very new to the game be there early at 11:00am and we'll teach you how to play before the tourney begins. We will also have many door prizes given away throughout the day. Also keep in mind the spirit of a Prerelease is non-competitive, with no real pressure to win, which is why everyone will receive prize packs at the end. The main objective is to have fun and check out all the new cards!

The fun starts at Noon! If you're new to the game and want to learn how to play, come join us at 11am and we'll teach you before the Prerelease begins!

We'll have 2 different ways to join in the fun to choose from:

The Main Event
This is where you build your own 40 card deck from the cards you receive in the 6 packs you are given at the start of the event (no trading until after the tourney), with basic energies provided on loan.
(for those who are more comfortable with making your own decks, and like more booster packs to work with)
Cost: $25 for 6 boosters to build the deck you'll play in the tournament, plus a special Promo Card and a VERY cool set of Pokemon themed card sleeves.
Starts at 12:00 Noon - Each player will receive 6 booster packs of the new set (to keep) and may start opening their packs. Players will have 30 minutes to build their own 40 card deck (using only those cards) to play in the tourney and write down their decklist, deciding how many energies they will want to include in their decks. Basic energies are provided on loan. At 12:30 the tourney will begin with 20 minute rounds and play for 4 prizes. The number of rounds we will have will depend on the total number of players there, but probably 4 or 5 rounds.

Main Event Prizes: ALL participants will receive 2 more Secret Wonders prize packs at the end of the tourney, making a total of 8 packs.

For those of you who may be new to a Prerelease, here's a brief video created by PokePress explaining a little bit about what to expect in building a deck for the Main Event. This was taped at our last Prerelease, Mysterious Treasures, held at the North Suburban Women's Club recently.

OR, if you'd prefer, you can enter

The Theme Deck Challenge
where you get brand new Preconstructed theme decks to play against each other
(for those of you who'd rather play a deck that's already made, rather than try to build one yourself)

Cost: $25, for a new Preconstructed Theme Deck, plus a special Promo Card and a VERY cool set of Pokemon themed card sleeves.

Also starts at 12:00 Noon - This special tourney will be separate from the main event and follows a much more casual format. Great for younger players, parents, or those who may not be as familiar with deck building on their own, but would still like to participate. You get a brand new Secret Wonders Starter 'Theme' Deck, complete with playmat, damage counters, special coin, and Rulebook. They would be able to play either tournament style, or more casually, whichever they preferred, with other kids who also got the new Theme Decks. It's a fun, relaxed environment, and they get to keep everything they got there, all for only $25.

Theme Deck Challenge Prizes: ALL participants will receive 4 more Secret Wonders prize packs at the end of the tourney (making a total of 4 packs and the Deck they played)

Either way, the cost is only $25
(and when it's over, you'll leave with over $35 worth of Brand New, Not yet released products!)

We'll also be giving away several door prizes to random players, including a starter set for the new Pokemon Figure Game, an Empoleon LvX, booster packs, and other assorted goodies.
