Results from our Legend Maker Prerelease held 2/5/06
I think we had a wonderful turnout for our Legend Maker
Prerelease! We ended up with 31 players, which I think was pretty
good considering both Niles IL had theirs on the same day, and of course
the SuperBowl was also that day. But everyone who was there had a great
time, and so did I. Once again I baked cookies for everyone and one
of our regular players, Justin H, brought in white chocolate covered
popcorn for everyone that his mom was nice enough to make. As the participants
arrived, they recieved a special Legend Maker lapel pin and once we
got started, everyone there even got a special Legend Maker Deck Box,
to store their decks in!
Channel 17 WTVO news came just before the main event got started, and
featured a nice news article from newscaster Allen Jones on both the
5pm and 10pm news. They started their peice saying :
"To some Stateline kids, the Superbowl wasn't the big tournament
of the day - that's because Pokemon was!"
We had 31 total players, (including 4 newly registered players) and
we had 6 play in the Theme Deck Challenge (and 2 more play in a small
Theme Deck Challenge side event later).

We had special drawings and gave out lots of packs and Legend Maker posters through the day. The 3 biggest door prizes went to Jeff W who got the Game Boy Advance Mario Tennis Power Tour game, and Jeremiah W who got the free pass worth $20 entrance into our next Prerelease at TIY, and Jamie D who won a 10 pack bonus in the special Preregistered drawing. At the end, everyone who played in this event recieved 2 additional packs of the new cards.
Our side event after the main was fun and had 17 entrants...
everyone got plenty of pizza and chips and at least 1 pack for entering.
We even had a TV there so that the players could keep up with the SuperBowl
scores until the Side Event was over. We finished up the day around
7:45pm.

Overall I think it was a great day! I thank everyone who came and look forward to seeing you at our next prerelease... should be April 23. Can't wait for the next one! Hope you all had fun!
