Legend Maker Prerelease

Alrighty everyone! We've all been awaiting the release of the next set, Legend Maker, so now's your chance to check it out ahead of time at Tomorrow Is Yesterday's PreRelease in Rockford! With State Championships just around the corner, you won't want to miss out on this chance to get these cards! Here are the details for the event, so mark your calendars everyone! You won't want to miss out on all the fun!

We will be holding both the Sanctioned Standard PreRelease for those who enjoy the challenge of making their own deck, and also a more casual Theme Deck Challenge for the newer players, or those who aren't as comfortable building a deck from scratch. So bring your little brothers, sisters, moms, dads, or friends you've been trying to teach so they can join in the fun and get some new cards without the pressure of building a deck.

Plus, if you bring in a new player (one who hasn't played at a TIY Premiere Event before) and they compete in either tourney, you'll get a bonus booster pack!

Also, everyone who preregisters with me no later than Thursday, Feb 2nd and stays for the entire event will get a free booster pack and will be entered in a special drawing for 10 packs!

And keep in mind the spirit of a Prerelease is non-competitive, with no real pressure to win, which is why everyone will recieve prizes at the end. The main objective is to have fun and check out all the new cards!

But don't worry, we'll have LOTS of random pack giveaways throughout the day! Everyone gets a chance!

Time: Registration at 11:30 for each event. Both tourneys start at 12:30

Standard Legend Maker PreRelease
Sanctioned,Sealed Deck Limited Format and Age-Modified Swiss pairings
( unless there are enough players to run straight Swiss)
The number of 20 minute Swiss rounds to be run will depend on total attendance at the event.

Age Groups: 10 & Under, 11-14, and 15 & older

Cost: $20 for 6 boosters to build the deck with, plus 2 prize packs and special item at the end.
(Minimum value $32!)

At 12:30 each player will recieve 6 booster packs of the new set (to keep) and may start opening their packs. Players will each build their own 40 card deck using only those cards and basic energies that will be provided to play in the tourney. Players may not trade the cards from their booster packs with other players until the tournament ends. You'll have 30 minutes to decide what cards to put in your deck and how many energies you'll need. Then you'll check off your cards on a decklist, and turn it in for the energies you'll need to add to your deck to make it complete. Matches are played for 4 prize cards. At 1:00 the tourney will begin with 20 minute rounds. The number of rounds played will depend on how many players, minimum of 3 rounds, and all players will continue to play in all rounds (not elimination).

Prizes:
All participants will recieve 2 Legend Maker prize packs at the end of the tourney, a special promo card, a Legend Maker PreRelease pin, and other exclusive EX Legend Maker TCG merchandise, while supplies last!

Additional Gifts for the top finishers in each age group (10-, 11-14, 15+):
1st - 3 packs
2nd - 2 packs
3rd - 1 pack

Legend Maker Theme Deck Challenge
The Theme Deck Challenge uses standard Swiss pairings, not Age-Modified Swiss.
Non-Sanctioned - Players do not receive rating points for participation in the Theme Deck Challenge.
This tourney will start shortly after 12:30, once the main event gets underway.

Cost: $20 for a Theme Deck to use in the tourney, plus 4 prize packs and special item recieved afterwards.
(Minimum value $32!)

This special tourney will be separate from the main event and follows a much more casual format. Great for younger players, parents or those who may not be as familiar with deck building on their own, but would still like to participate. Each player will choose a Legend Maker Theme Deck to play in the tourney and keep afterwards. It's ok if parents help their kids with this one (or if kids help their parents!) They will battle other players who also are playing one of the new Theme Decks, so everyone starts out on even ground for this one! This is a great tourney for the beginners or for new "Poke-parents" to play in while their kids may be playing in either event.

And, like in the main event, in addition to the Theme Deck you play in the Tourney, all participants in this Theme Deck Challenge will recieve 4 prize packs, a special promo card, a Legend Maker PreRelease pin, and other exclusive EX Legend Maker TCG merchandise, while supplies last!

Additional Gifts for the top finishers:

3rd - 1 pack

Door prizes after the Prerelease will include lots of LM packs, sleeves, dice sets,
a Game Boy Advance Mario Tennis Power Tour demo game,
and a $20 gift certificate entrance to the next Prerelease at TIY!

Sanctioned Modified Side Event
( for those who have played in one of the main events)
Cost: $5
Time: Approx 5pm, after the main event is finished and after a short dinner break (provided)

We will also have a regular Modified Sanctioned Tourney (no Legend Maker cards in decks) after the main event. Great way to win even more Legend Maker booster packs! Didn't win in the main event? Now's your chance to redeem yourself! Want to show your skills? Bring your best Modified deck to the table!

Since it's SuperBowl Sunday, those who enter in the side event will also get chips and Pizza!
( And we will have a TV there so you can keep up on the SuperBowl scores)

Prizes:
Lots of Legend Maker Prizes, to be announced, based on number of players in the main event.
