We had a Wonderful turnout, despite a raging blizzard on Friday for several of those who were coming. We ended up with a total of 111 players...23Juniors (wow! That was such a surprise!), 23 Seniors, and 65 Masters. Just a point of interest, Last year's IL States had 79 players and Regionals had 99... and our States had 111 this year, dealing with some unfortuante weather.I'll post more complete details about the event a little later, but for now, here's ...

The Rockford Register Star came and did a great write up. We had an almost full page article on the first page of the Local section. Here's a link to the Rockford Register Star's online article, although it doesnt' show all the pictures in it that the actual paper had. Here are rest of the pictures from that article:

Karol Nowak, 11, watches as his opponent takes a turn during the first round of competition in the Illinois State Pokémon Championships held Saturday in Loves Park. Nowak, who won his first matchup, wore a Lucario hat for the championship. Lucario is a character from the Pokémon game.
