(about 4 blocks North of E.Riverside on N. 2nd St(Hwy 251).

Quick directions:
From I90, I39, Hwy51, Hwy 55, or Hwy 11-
take the route 55 exit to the left or West  (Exit 64 - E. Riverside Dr). Then go straight on that road until you hit a major intersection, N. 2nd St (Hwy 251) Turn right at that intersection.  It's just a few block farther, on the left side of the road - Across the street from a Big Lots mini mall -  the North Suburban Women's Club. 

Registration opens at 11, tourney starts at NOON
(so eat lunch before you come, or bring your lunch with you)

How much does it cost? $25 to enter.
Entry fee includes over $35 worth of products you use to play in the event and then keep afterwards.

As usual, we will be having two different ways to play in the Prerelease, both going on at the same time:
the Sanctioned Main Event, OR the Theme Deck Challenge.
Either one you choose, everyone will get a Cool Special Surprise gift and a special Promo card!

all for only $25!! Such a deal!

Want to get some extra booster packs? Bring in your friends, neighbors, parents... for every new person you bring in to play, in either the Main Event or the Theme Deck Challenge, I'll give you a bonus pack! Let's face it, Pokemon is a GREAT game, we ALL love it, and it's MORE fun the more people who play! This is going to be a VERY exciting new set and this is the very first day it's available too! You won't want to miss it!!

Also keep in mind the spirit of a Prerelease is non-competitive, with no real pressure to win, which is why everyone will receive prize packs at the end. The main objective is to have fun and check out all the new cards! And don't forget, the New Rules that came out with the Release of Diamond & Pearl are in effect, so be sure to check it out if you aren't familiar with the new changes.

But don't worry, we'll have LOTS of random pack giveaways throughout the day! I also have some really cool door prizes to give out... besides packs and sleeves and such, a free Pass to our next Prerelease worth $25, as well as some other great door prizes! You can be sure we'll have a good time! Oh and of course, I'll bake plenty of cookies for everyone! We'll also have Soda, juice, and chips on sale there too, in case you get hungry. There are also plenty of fast food places within walking distance, like Subway, McDonalds, Arbys and more. Feel free to eat lunch before you arrive or bring it in with you to eat after you register, before the event begins.

Great Encounters Prerelease
- Main Event -

Cost: $25 for 6 boosters to build the deck you'll play in the tournament, plus a special Promo Card and a cool surprise item for everyone, while supplies last! I can't tell you what it is until the start of the event, but it's something that everyone will LOVE! More than $35 worth of products for only a $25 entrance fee! Nice!

Main event - at 12:00 Noon- Each player will receive 6 booster packs of the new set (to keep) and may start opening their packs. Players will each build their own 40 card deck (using only those cards from the 6 packs) to play in the tourney and write down their decklist, deciding how many energies they will want to include in their decks. Basic energies are provided on loan, and for this Prerelease we will also have special Proxie Basic Dark and Basic Metal Energies. Everyone will have 30 minutes to build their decks using the cards from the packs they received.
At 12:30 the tourney will begin with 20 minute rounds and play for 4 prizes. The number of rounds we will have will depend on the total number of players there, but probably 4 or 5 rounds.

Prizes: ALL participants will receive 2 more Great Encounters prize packs at the end of the tourney (making a total of 8 packs, plus the surprise gift and the Promo card)

Great Encounters Prerelease
- Theme Deck Challenge -

Cost: $25 for a Theme Deck (complete with new rulebook, themed coin, damage counters and playmat) to keep and use to compete against others in the Theme Deck Challenge, plus a special Promo Card and a cool surprise item for everyone, while supplies last!

This special tourney will be separate from the main event and follows a much more casual format. Great for younger players, parents, or those who may not be as familiar with deck building on their own, but would still like to participate. If you don't know how to play, we can teach you! Each player will choose one of 3 different Great Encounterss Theme Decks to use to battle others who also choose the Theme Deck Challenge. You'll have your choice of three different Theme Decks, and the nice thing about playing the Theme Deck Challenge is that each Theme Deck also comes with one of the new Rulebooks and playmats, a special coin, and your own damage counters.

And all participants in this Theme Deck Challenge will ALSO receive 4 more Great Encounters prize packs at the end of their tourney (making a total of: the Deck, 4 boosters, plus the secret item and Promo card).

(Also, depending on availability, we may have a Great Encounters Theme Deck Challenge Side Event after the main event)

Modified Side Event

( for those who have played in the main event)
Starts at approx 3:30pm, after the main event is over.
Cost: Only $5

We will also have a regular Modified Sanctioned Tourney (no Great Encounters cards in decks) after the main event. Wonderful way to win even more Great Encounters booster packs! Didn't win in the main event? Now's your chance to redeem yourself! Want to show your skills? Bring your best Modified deck to the table!

Prizes:
Great Encounters prizes to be announced, based on number of players. The more the merrier!
