Diamond & Pearl Prerelease And yes, the price has gone up a bit, mostly due to the fact that pack prices have increased. However, booster packs will now contain 10 cards instead of 9, so that's a plus! Well, what is new with
Diamond & Pearl? LOTS of new and exciting things with the release of Diamond and Pearl!! **************************************************************************
If you know you're going to come to our event, Preregister with me before Wed, May 16th, (either contact the store or send me an email) and I will give you a free Pack at the end of the event. Our space is somewhat limited for this event and we'd like to know ahead of time how many to set up for. Those who are Preregistered and Prepaid will be guaranteed entry, followed by those who are Preregistered. People arriving past 11:30 may not be able to enter if our seating is already filled. Feel free to call the store before you come if you are unsure. Also keep in mind the spirit of a Prerelease is non-competitive, with no real pressure to win, which is why everyone will receive prizes at the end. The main objective is to have fun and check out all the new cards! But don't worry, we'll have LOTS of random pack giveaways throughout the day! I also have some really cool door prizes to give out... besides packs and sleeves and such, a free Pass to our next Prerelease worth $25, as well as some other great door prizes! You can be sure we'll have a good time! I'll even bake some cookies! **************************************************************************
Main event - at 12:00 - Each player will receive 6 booster packs
of the new set (to keep) and may start opening their packs. Players will
each build their own 40 card deck (using only those cards from the 6 packs)
to play in the tourney and write down their decklist, deciding how many
energies they will want to include in their decks. Basic energies are
provided on loan, and for this Prerelease we will also have special Proxie
Basic Dark and Metal Energies. Prizes: All participants will receive 2 more Diamond & Pearl prize packs at the end of the tourney, plus a special Promo Card and a VERY secret surprise item for everyone, while supplies last! I can't tell you what it is until the start of the event, but we've heard that it's something that everyone will LOVE! ************************************************************************** Or if you
prefer, you can do the Cost: $25 for a Theme Deck, and then 4 more Diamond & Pearl TCG booster packs received afterwards. This special tourney will be separate from the main event and follows a much more casual format. Great for younger players, parents or those who may not be as familiar with deck building on their own, but would still like to participate. Each player will choose one of 3 different Diamond & Pearl Theme Decks to use to battle others who also choose the Theme Deck Challenge. You'll have your choice of Inferno Zone, Royal Frost and Terra Firma, and the nice thing about playing the Theme Deck Challenge is that each Theme Deck also comes with one of the new Rulebooks, which will be nice to have with all the new rule changes coming up with the release of Diamond & Pearl. And, like in the main event, so you won't be missing out on any of the fun, all participants in this Theme Deck Challenge will keep their decks and receive 4 more Diamond & Pearl prize packs at the end of the tourney, plus a special Promo Card and a VERY secret surprise item for everyone, while supplies last! (Also, depending on availability, we may have a D&P Theme Deck Challenge Side Event after the main event) **************************************************************************
