And when Legendary Pokémon come together, only the greatest Trainers can control their might. In the Pokémon TCG: Call of Legends expansion, not only will you discover incredibly powerful Pokémon— including very rare “Shiny” versions of some of them—but you’ll also find exciting new Lost Zone effects to expand your gameplay choices. Top Cut Comics Once again, as we always do, we'll have 2 times to choose from, Due to the recent remodeling at the store, we'll now be playing in the new Event Game Room at the back of the store (the Senior Game room from our recent City Championships, near where the pizza was) But just enter the store as usual, feel free to browse around and shop, and we'll show you where to go for the Prerelease.

Contact me right away to reserve your seat! ******************************************** As usual at each time slot, we will be having two different ways to play: Want to get some extra booster packs? Bring in your friends, neighbors, parents... for every new person you bring in to play, in either the Main Event or the Theme Deck Challenge, I'll give you a bonus pack! Let's face it, Pokemon is a GREAT game, we ALL love it, and it's MORE fun the more people who play! Also keep in mind the spirit of a Prerelease is non-competitive, with no real pressure to win, which is why everyone will receive prize packs at the end. The main objective is to have fun & check out all the new cards! But don't worry, we'll have LOTS of random pack giveaways throughout the day! I also have some really cool door prizes to give out... besides packs and sleeves and such, I'll give out a free Pass to our next Prerelease worth $25, as well as some other great door prizes! You can be sure we'll have a good time!

Main event - Each player will receive 6 booster packs of the new set (to keep) and may start opening their packs. Players will each build their own 40 card deck (using only those cards from the 6 packs) to play in the tourney and write down their decklist, deciding how many energies they will want to include in their decks. ( no trading cards with others until after the Tourney) Basic energies are provided on loan. Everyone will then have 30 minutes to build their decks using the cards from the packs they received. And don't worry, it's not really that hard to build your own deck... generally there aren't a whole lot of trainers in a set, so you'll usually want to include as many of them that will be helpful as you can. You want to make sure you have as many basic Pokemon as you can, and include any evolutions that you might have been lucky enough to get as well. Try to keep your deck to 2 or 3 types, like Fire and Electric or whichever, because that will be helpful to you in drawing the particular energies you need for your Pokemon's attacks. Of course Colorless type Pokemon can fit nicely into any type of deck since they can use any type of energy you happen to have. Since your deck needs to be 40 cards in total, a relatively simple rule of thumb would be 20 energies and 20 in any combination of basics, their evolutions (if you got any), and trainers. Then, just decide how many of which type of energies you'll need to get by looking over the energy requirements for your Pokemon's attacks. And that's pretty much all there is to it! Remember, it's a tournament for fun, so don't stress over building 'the perfect deck'...
Prizes:ALL participants who finish will receive 2 more Call of Legends prize packs at the end of the tourney ************************************************************************ Call of Legends This special tourney will be separate from the main event and follows a much more casual format. Great for younger players, parents, or those who may not be as familiar with deck building on their own, but would still like to participate. If you don't know how to play, we can teach you! Each player will choose one of 2 different Call of Legends Theme Decks to use to battle others who also choose the Theme Deck Challenge, and the nice thing about playing the Theme Deck Challenge is that each Theme Deck also comes with one of the new Rulebooks and playmats, a special coin, and your own damage counters, all very useful tools for the newer players. And all participants in this Theme Deck Challenge will ALSO receive 4 more Call of Legends prize packs for participating in the tourney, in addition to the decks they played. If you know you're going to want to be in the Theme Deck Challenge, let me know when you Preregister so I can mark you down for it. Or you can decide when you get there. I'll have it available at both the morning and the afternoon events. ************************************************************************ Side Event Here's something new and fun for those of you who play in the Prerelease... after the morning event AND after the afternoon event we'll be having 8 player 4 pack draft side events for $15, so if you finished up your fun time playing in the Prerelease and just wish you could keep going for some MORE fun, then sign up for the Draft afterwards! It's a blast! But only players who have participated in the Prerelease may play in the Side Event afterwards. We'll have sign ups and details at the store.

So, in a nutshell, they pay the entry fee and get the cards, promo item and promo card, but you get the fun of actually being able to still participate in the tourney and see all the new cards. It's a win-win situation for those players who either can't make it to the event, or for those who can't afford to come to it otherwise.
