Here are the Results from our recent
Crystal Guardians Prerelease

Unfortuantely Niles and New Berlin both had their Prereleases on the same day as ours, which, combined with gas prices over $3 a gallon, took a toll on our number of people in attendance. For both the Main Event and the Theme Deck Challenge we ended up with a total of 29. But even though we had less people than we usually do, we all still had a great time! Judges were Devin P-R, Keny B, and we welcomed Adam V to our Premiere Judging Team as well. Channel 23 news, WIFR Rockford, also showed up and did a great piece about our event that was on the evening news. (I'll have a link here to that interview and news story later) As usual, all of my Chocolate Chip Cookies were gone by the end of the day. Oh, and our player Ryan B (Bigginzzz) had to leave early to go directly to his train leaving for Worlds!

Many other Door Prizes were given out, including Pokeball Beach balls, Posters, a Dice set, a Trainers Kit, Booster Packs, and other fun items.

 

All in all, there were some great new cards in this set, and everyone had a great time plotting their next decks once this set is officially released to the public in September. Between the older sets (HL, FRLG, TRR) being rotated out of the next Modified Format and the addition of the creative new cards in Crystal Guardians, we're in for some very interesting changes in the great game of Pokemon starting in September! I can hardly wait to see all the new deck ideas!
