Rockford IL City Championships
Rockford IL is ready to Rock the area again for this year's City Championships! Last year we had a BLAST with 68 players from all over... come see what happens this year! I think we'll have an even better event than last year!

Saturday, January 6th
Registration will be at 10am with the tourney starting promptly at
11am. (last call for registering will be at 10:55)

resident of the City of Rockford to enter...
All are welcome, of all ages, from far or near!
Preregistration is encouraged to speed things along if you know you'll be there. (You can email me with your name, ID # and BD or tell me if you are new) Decklists will be required and here's a link to the form so you can print it out ahead of time if you like. City Championships Decklist (pdf format)
Lunch will be provided to all our Competitors, and of course I'll have my cookies for everyone too! (All competitors will get 2 slices of Pizza, cookies, and punch for lunch for free, or there are several fast food restaurants within walking distance if you'd rather do your own thing for lunch) Soda, candy and chips will be available for sale there, as well as dice, sleeves, booster packs and other gaming accessories. And if you want to compete but don't have a deck, no worries... we'll have plenty of Preconstructed Theme Decks available for you on sale right there! Open it up and you've got all you need to enter the Competition! We also have a few Loaner Starter Decks, in case you find your deck isn't quite modified in time for the Tournament. That way you can still enter the Competition.
In addition to the Main Event, we'll have plenty of surprises and side events to keep things lively, so everyone can have a Great day of Pokemon Fun! After the Main Event, we'll have a GameBoy Corner where you can trade or battle your Pokemon with other players (bring link cables if you have them, but we'll have some available there too). We'll have the Pokemon League for those of you who are interested, (providing we have enough room) for either existing members or those of you who'd like to learn more about joining our League. We'll also have a 2 Sanctioned Modified Tournies (one at approx 4pm and another at approx 6 pm) for Dragon Frontier Prizes in case you just didn't get enough competition in the Main Event and you want more! We'll have Pokemon Videos running for your entertainment in between rounds, and we'll have our 2nd Annual SSBM Tourney (that's Super Smash Brothers Melee on the GameCube for those of you who don't know) to wind things up! Play as Pikachu, Jigglypuff or many other Nintendo characters! (You might want to bring your own controller if you're planning on entering the SSBM tourney) So as you can see, it will be a day full of fun times!

Remember, this is Title Premiere Event...
so keep in mind
the following rules and restrictions:
Cards from the World's Championship Decks with the silver borders are
NOT allowed in Tournaments.
Modified Format includes cards from the Deoxys set thru the Dragon
Frontiers set. No sets prior to Deoxys will be allowed. Older cards
reprinted in these legal sets will be allowed with the exception of the
10HP Mysterious Fossil).
Sleeves must be single color with no artwork or holographic design,
other than the Japanese Pokeball or Pikachu Sleeves, or the US Pokemon
Sleeves (Nidoking art ONLY)
Cards must be in uniform condition if unsleeved so as not to appear
to be marked in any way.
Cheating will be dealt with severly, so don't do it! Always play
honorably and fair!
