BATTLE ROAD TOURNAMENT - ROCKFORD
SUNDAY JUNE 10TH
Battle Road Tournaments will be taking place all across
the country, from May 26th to June 24th.
They are a great way to work on your Premier Ratings, potentially earning
a trip to the 2007 World Championships! Results of the Battle Roads
count toward your Premier Rating and have a K-Value of 32, which is
very helpful!
When? Sunday June 10th
What Time? Registration
at 11am Feel free to bring your lunch to have while
you work on your decklist, or grab a bite to eat before you get there.
(There are many fast food restaurants within a few blocks) I'll also
bake some of my cookies like I usually do. Chips, Soda & Candy Bars
will be available for sale there.
Pairings for Round 1 will be posted at noon, so if you're late you'll
have a first round loss.

Suburban Women's Club 6320 N 2nd St. Rockford IL 61111
It's about 4 blocks North of E.Riverside (Hwy 55)on N. 2nd St, which
is Hwy 251. Here's a Mapquest

From I90, I39, Hwy51, Hwy 55, or Hwy 11
take the route 55 exit to the West (Exit 64 -
E. Riverside Dr). Go left on Riverside if you're coming from
the south or right if you're coming from the north. Then when you get
to Hwy 251 (also called N. 2nd St - you'll see a Walgreens on the far
right corner) go right. It's up the street on the left side, I think
4 more blocks, on the corner across from Big Lots mini-mall.
How much to enter? It's FREE!!
Who may enter in the Tournament? Anyone
may enter, you don't need to be a resident of the City of
Rockford to enter... All are welcome, of all ages, from far away or
right in Rockford! If you're new to the game and want to learn more

Format: Modified Constructed - Bring
your own best Deoxys-on Modified decks to play in this tournament.
If you are unsure as to what cards are legal in the Modified Format,
you can check the Battle Road Decklist below or email me. You can also
ask us to check over your deck when you arrive if you allow some extra
time to do so. If you arrive and find that your deck is not legal to
play in this tourney, don't worry, you will still be able to play...
we will have decks available for sale (as well as a few that may be
used as loaners, on a first come, first serve basis for choice of decks.)
Diamond & Pearl cards are legal for this event.
Keep in mind that the New Game Rules are now in effect!

Most likely will be Age Separated Swiss (everyone will play within
their own age group in all the rounds, the number of rounds being determined
by number of players in each age group)
Age groups:
Junior Division: Born 1996 or later
Senior Division: Born in 1992, 1993, 1994, or 1995
Masters Division: Born in 1991 or earlier
Also after the Swiss Rounds, in each of the 3 age groups we will have
a Top Cut, with a maximum of a cut to Top 4.

Preregistration is encouraged if you know you'll be there. (You can email me with your name, ID # and BD or tell me if you are new) Decklists will be required and here's a link to the form so you can print it out ahead of time and fill it out if you like. Battle Road Decklist (pdf format)
Approximate Timetable
This is an approximate timetable to give you a rough idea of what to expect for the Tournament. The number of rounds will depend on the number of players for each age group, players may play in all rounds, it is not elimination, (unless they need to drop from the tourney), and they are 30 minute rounds. The Finals matches will be best 2 out of 3 during an hour's time. This timetable will most likely be for the Masters Division, as they usually have the most players. The Junior and Senior Divisions will most likely finish up earlier, and, depending on the number of players in those groups, may have less rounds and may only have a Top 2 Finals match.

Round 5 - 3:00 - 3:30
Round 6 - 3:45 - 4:15 (If needed)

Remember, this is Title Premiere Event... so keep
in mind the following rules and restrictions:
Cards from the World's Championship Decks with the silver borders
are NOT allowed in Tournaments.
Modified Format includes cards from the Deoxys set thru the Diamond
& Pearl set. No sets prior to Deoxys will be allowed. Older
cards reprinted in these legal sets will be allowed with the exception
of the 10HP Mysterious Fossil).
Sleeves must be single color with no artwork or holographic design,
exceptions being the Japanese Pokeball or Pikachu Sleeves, or
the US Pokemon Sleeves - (Nidoking art, Diamond & Pearl Lucario)
Cards must be in uniform condition if unsleeved so as not to
appear to be marked in any way.
Cheating will be dealt with severly, so don't do it! Always
play honorably and fair!

Diamond & Pearl GBA Tourney
Also, for those who have participated the main event,
we will also have a Diamond & Pearl Gameboy Tourney after the main
event. Marriland (my son, Devin) from Pokemon.Marriland.Com
will be running this event. But remember, for this particular GBA Tourney,
you must have participated in the main Battle Road event in order to
enter.
Who knows, maybe he'll even make another video for his series of Marriland
Videos! ^_^ Be sure to send me an email so that I can get your information
ahead of time to register you.

Modified Side Events
We will be holding a special little Modified Side
Event Tourney for the younger/newer players after their age group
finishes up the main Battle Road Event. This special little tourney
will be free to enter and will have various
assorted prizes for the players entering. We want this to be a fun little
mini-tourney for them to have a chance to earn some extra little goodies.
There may also be another Modified
Side Event Tourney after the main Battle Road Tourney for the
other players as well. There will be a $5 charge
for entering, but players will compete for additional Diamond
& Pearl booster packs, (the exact number to be determined by the
number of players who enter) but everyone who
enters will be guaranteed a pack.
