...one week before Halloween... so you know what THAT means!
Everyone who comes in costume will get a bonus Booster Pack!
(and I mean seriously, with thought put into it, not just "ya, I'm a Pokemon Player! Gimme a Pack!")
If you don't want to come in a costume, you can always bring me a bag of Halloween Candy or something creatively 'Halloweeny'... If I like it, you'll get a bonus pack! (1 pack per player max)

How can you earn another bonus pack? Bring a new player with you! If they know how to play, bring them along!
I'm in need of several players who can be Sponsored Players for some of our regulars who can't make it (details below)

This is one of our very most FUN events of the entire year!!

Want to see some of the new cards??
Here's a preview of some of them from the OP website!

********************************************

As usual, we will be having two different ways to play in the Prerelease:

the Sanctioned Main Event, OR the Theme Deck Challenge.
(Read the differences between the two in their descriptions below)
Either one you choose, you'll get a Cool set of unique card sleeves and a special Promo card!
Just think... a day full of fun with your Pokemon friends, a chance to get and play with the new cards before anyone else gets them, A Special set of sleeves for your deck, a special Promo Card...

Want to get some extra booster packs? Bring in your friends, neighbors, parents... for every new person you bring in to play, in either the Main Event or the Theme Deck Challenge, I'll give you a bonus pack! You won't want to miss it!!

Also keep in mind the spirit of a Prerelease is non-competitive, with no real pressure to win, which is why everyone will receive prize packs at the end. The main objective is to have fun and check out all the new cards!

But don't worry, we'll have LOTS of random pack giveaways throughout the day! I also have some really cool door prizes to give out... besides packs and sleeves and such, I'll give out a free Pass to our next Prerelease worth $25, as well as some other great door prizes! *************Arceus Prerelease************
- Main Event -

Cost: $25
for 6 boosters to build the deck you'll play in the tournament, plus a special Promo Card and a cool set of sleeves for your decks for everyone, while supplies last! And I CAN tell you that you'll love them!
So you get more than $35 worth of products for only a $25 entrance fee!
And 2 weeks before they even go on sale to the public! Such a deal!
!

Main event - Each player will receive 6 booster packs of the new set (to keep) and may start opening their packs. Players will each build their own 40 card deck (using only those cards from the 6 packs) to play in the tourney and write down their decklist, deciding how many energies they will want to include in their decks. ( no trading cards with others until after the Tourney) Basic energies are provided on loan, and for this Prerelease we will also have special Proxie Basic Dark and Basic Metal Energies. Everyone will then have 30 minutes to build their decks using the cards from the packs they received.

And don't worry, it's not really that hard to build your own deck... generally there aren't a whole lot of trainers in a set, so you'll usually want to include as many of them that will be helpful as you can. You want to make sure you have as many basic Pokemon as you can, and include any evolutions that you might have been lucky enough to get as well. Try to keep your deck to 2 or 3 types, like Fire and Electric or whichever, because that will be helpful to you in drawing the particular energies you need for your Pokemon's attacks. Of course Colorless type Pokemon can fit nicely into any type of deck since they can use any type of energy you happen to have. Since your deck needs to be 40 cards in total, a relatively simple rule of thumb would be 20 energies and 20 in any combination of basics, their evolutions (if you got any), and trainers. Then, just decide how many of which type of energies you'll need to get by looking over the energy requirements for your Pokemon's attacks. And that's pretty much all there is to it!

Remember, it's a tournament for fun, so don't stress over building 'the perfect deck'... just have fun with it!

Once the decks are built, the tourney will begin with 20 minute rounds and play for 4 prizes. The number of rounds we will have will depend on the total number of players there, but probably 3 or 4 rounds.

Prizes:ALL participants who finish will receive 2 more Arceus prize packs at the end of the tourney
(making a total of 8 packs, PLUS the surprise gift sleeves and the Promo card for your $25)

************************************************************************
Or if you prefer using a Preconstructed Deck, you can do the

Arceus Prerelease
- Theme Deck Challenge -

Cost: $25
for a Theme Deck (complete with new rulebook, themed coin, damage counters and playmat) to keep and use to compete against others in the Theme Deck Challenge, plus a special Promo Card and the cool sleeves for everyone, while supplies last!

This special tourney will be separate from the main event and follows a much more casual format. Great for younger players, parents, or those who may not be as familiar with deck building on their own, but would still like to participate. If you don't know how to play, we can teach you! Each player will choose one of 2 different Arceus Theme Decks to use to battle others who also choose the Theme Deck Challenge, and the nice thing about playing the Theme Deck Challenge is that each Theme Deck also comes with one of the new Rulebooks and playmats, a special coin, and your own damage counters, all very useful tools for the newer players.

And all participants in this Theme Deck Challenge will ALSO receive 4 more Arceus prize packs for participating in the tourney, in addition to the decks they played.
(making a total of: the Deck, 4 booster packs, plus the cool sleeves and Promo card).

So you get more than $35 worth of products for the $25 entrance fee!

If you know you're going to want to be in the Theme Deck Challenge, let me know when you Preregister so I can mark you down for it. Or you can decide when you get there. Often there are more players who want to play the Theme Deck Challenge in the afternoon, so that's why I usually have then, since it's more fun the more players you have. But I have enough product to run it for as many who want it this time. Last time we had a Theme Deck Challenge at both the morning and the afternoon events.

************************************************************************

Also... if you want to come and play, but can't afford it, we have an option for you...

I have a Sponsor Program...
sometimes I have regular players who, for whatever reason, can't make it to the Prerelease but still don't want to miss out, so they need someone to fill in for them. If you get sponsored by someone, they pay for your entry, they get the cards you pull, the sleeves and the Promo card, but you get to keep any door prizes you win or bonus packs for coming in costume, AND you get the fun of actually being able to still participate in the tourney and play with the new cards.
It's a win-win situation.

Contact me if you need a sponsor or want to be one. I've currently got 3 spots that I need Sponsored Players for.

Also contact me if you'd like to be a Featured Player, where I'll video you opening your packs for the start of the tourney and your progress as you build your deck. I'll chose a player from those who contact me.

Also, I'm giving away 2 Pokemon Halloween Costumes,
a Marill (in the am) and a Polywhirl (in the pm),
Marril Polywhirl Costumes
plus some of the Pokemon Hats I make

Mark your calendars now! Don't miss this one!

Main Event... Theme Deck Challenge... Halloween Bonuses... Costume contest...
Door Prizes... Cookies...
So much fun it's probably a good thing this one only happens once a year!!

Our Halloween-time Prereleseases are the most fun of all!

See you there!!
